Writers and speakers: be careful about claiming you’re the first to discuss a topic. Or that “nobody” is discussing the topic. I’ve run across people over the years (including in my pitching inbox) who say things like “nobody is talking honestly about friendship.” That’s simply not true. When I started writing about it in 2014 there were others. The topic has only grown since then. You can certainly say what you’re adding to a conversation, but to claim you’re “the only one” having it (no matter the topic) shows a deep lack of humility.
