Both my paternal great grandmothers were big quilters. They came from an era of necessity, growing up on rural farms. I inherited a hexagonal grandmother’s garden path quilt from Emma (Laughead) Foster. It was completely hand stitched. It inspired me to make my own which I started after the pandemic. This summer I am pushing to finish the top. My artistic endeavors eventually return to my early upbringing—surrounded by fiber and fabric.
