When my dad was in his late 30s, running the welding shop for Disney in Burbank, he started teaching himself the art of making turquoise & silver jewelry. As a British immigrant he loved and studied Native American jewelry. He had a great respect for Native American history as well. On our last trip home, this Christmas, my almost 90 year old mom found me alone, one evening, in the bedroom and with shaky hands told me this first cuff he made for her was mine now 😭 Together we have a beautiful collection.

We are never too old to learn the art of something, if our whole heart is vested ♥️

Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni are known for using Kingman turquoise in their jewelry. Mined in Arizona by them since around 600AD.
