I think Apollo is one of the smartest, if not the smartest, players in the room. But they’ve spent a year or so distancing themselves from the Private Credit crowd, saying the marks are wrong, they don’t have the same exposure to SaaS, etc. The public doesn’t care, though; they view Apollo as private credit. I think Apollo will learn it the hard way.
