I find the recent uptick in “Trad-Cath” attacks on Orthodoxy on here mostly distasteful, but most of all I find it perplexing. I don’t understand Trad-Caths.

See, Orthodox guys like myself and many others on here actually go to Church. We know our Priests, Deacons, Catechists, and many if not all of the people that go to my church share my same views. They actually listen to our podcast, they comment in the chats, they read our writing. Our conversations after Liturgy or Vespers are often much more intellectually charged and “based” than most conversation here. Our church is us, it represents us and for the most part, with few exceptions like any massive body, agrees with us.

What I don’t understand about trad-caths, especially the TRADitionalists and right wing Catholics, is how do you deal with the fact that your own Pope hates you, your ArchBishops, and Priests hate you, your rituals aren’t traditional, your own liturgy is so watered down and changed that your own grandmother wouldn’t recognize what is going on. Your entire right wing worldview is categorically denied and hated by the leadership of your own Church.

The only logical conclusion is that most of you trad Catholics are just online Catholics. You don’t actually attend church. Or that if you do, you are in severe denial.

Either way, I’m not interested in conversation, it’s not fruitful, it’s a waste of time. Because out of the two Catholics I know in real life, one never goes to church because one local church is super liberal and the other one is in Spanish, and the other is just a sedcaventist who doesn’t have a church near so he is basically an online Catholic.
