Wow JVL... finally had a minute here, and that was a beautiful, fitting, and true tribute to Mr. Gorbachev... "Gorby" as my generation dubbed him affectionately. I always wondered why we never see a truly "benevolent dictator". I guess because they are mutually exclude. To be benevolent is to graciously step back from being a dictator, a la Gorby.
