If anyone wants to know why this Minnesota fraud thing is driving me up the wall, read this.
My tether to the left is that I actually believe in the importance of a social safety net. I think it matters, and that we should be doing everything we can to strengthen and justify it.
That includes jumping straight into action when presented with evidence that the system - our system - is being abused, and that resources are being drained for fraudulent purposes.
That is our job to stop. The right is quite happy to dispense with all of this. It isn’t their project to begin with. They hate it, actually.
When fraudsters are allowed to take the piss, and when their political patrons run cover, it’s just handing a loaded gun to the executioner. Utterly unserious behavior, and for the weakest imaginable reason.
You’re afraid of being called names? So much so that you’re willing to see funding killed for your supposed priorities? For my priorities? Fuck you.
Cowards.
This is why I’ve fallen out with the left. It’s a matter of revealed preferences.
I think it’s more important for poor kids to have daycare than it is to shield professional Democrats from being called racists. I don’t actually care about that second thing at all. And they’re choosing it.
They’re choosing it at the potential expense of discrediting the very ideas of social welfare access and government assistance.
Hard to imagine how people are containing their excitement to vote for these pukes again.
