I wasn’t a big watcher of this show so had to look it up. In the scene in question, Jake’s boss is referred to as a “homo” by his friend, at which point, Jake - a cop - assaults the much older man. 

I don’t think I’d be happy if somebody referred to a gay acquaintance of mine that way, and I’d probably say so. What I do not think I would do is assault them. Can using violence in response to insults be something we stop glorifying, please?
