I wake up cranky more days than I’d like through the course of any given week. I recently saw a TikTok of a dad looking at his daughters in the backseat of his car saying “just because the morning didn’t go well, it doesn’t mean we can’t still have a good day.

That reminded me of this:

“Your worst day is a chance to show your best qualities, to stand out, and to learn an enormous amount about yourself. Very few people plan or preapare for what they’ll do and how they’ll act during those times. Those who do might well end up turning their worst day into their best” - Farnam Street

Which reminded me of the Daily Dad entry for April 2nd which says “You can’t let a bad day or bad person prevent your from being a good parent. You can’t bring your garbage from the office into your home. You must keep a clean house.”

It’s your job to change your face, and that’s something I’ve been practicing more mindfully lately. It doesn’t change what you face, but it does give you your power back in light of any situation.
