Pete Hegseth just pulled seven Navy officers off the promotion list. Two women. Two Black men. When the new one-star slate came out in late May, not one woman made it.
Sound familiar? It should. This is the third time. Army in March. Air Force after. Now the Navy. A list that's supposed to look like the force, scrubbed until it doesn't.
None of these officers were accused of anything. What got them flagged? Years ago they took part in a diversity event. As part of their job. That's it.
He calls it meritocracy. Meritocracy was the promotion board he overruled.
Hegseth's the least qualified man to run this department in my lifetime, by far. And every day, his ego and his mouth make this country less safe.
