The thing I hate most about LLMs is how they have destroyed my sense of trust in students.

During grading, whenever I get something that's good, I'm deeply suspicious that it's AI generated. But then I worry about punishing a student that is actually talented and has worked hard. But then I worry that I'm probably a mug that's being taken in. And so I end up in this posture of psychological suspicion and hostility, distrusting everything that I'm reading.

Which is clearly corrosive for my wider attitude toward students.

So thanks for that, Silicon Valley. Another gift from the tech bros nobody asked for, and nobody wanted.
