This April has been so busy, but I’ve enjoyed reading all of the NaPoWriMo prompts. This one spoke to me as I was recently visited by my spirit bug, even learning I’ve also encountered the Luna moth caterpillar before. All encounters during pivotal moments in my life. Thanks for this prompt, Alex Dawson!

Actias luna

A mere week in this physical realm;

604,800 seconds

10,080 minutes

168 hours

7 days

and no digestive system,

no pang to consume.

Your minutes nearly equate to my days

and they promise me that I am still young.

A mythical creature for many

           and yet

you always find me—

in awe and grateful for your wisdom.

Day 11 NaPoWriMo: research a local animal and write a poem about them, including at least one interesting fact.

I had to write about hummingbirds. They will never not amaze me 🥹💚🐦✨
