With every new generation of Apple's operating systems, I find myself spending an inordinate amount of time customizing and paring down my device settings. I have no use for most of the features marketed as revolutionary life-enhancements; in fact, I often find them bothersome and quite annoying. I'm sure many highly competent people put a lot of serious effort into it, and in fact, I was positively surprised by the look & feel of the "liquid glass." And yet so much of it feels stale, as if a plateau has been reached where efforts to improve turn into idling, a lot of energy expended for next to nothing. Once I'm finished tweaking my settings, I'm overcome by that strangely dull, drained feeling of wasted lifetime.
