“Liberation is an inevitability of life, from Palestine to Beijing, and onward to the whole world” - In the latest Discourse Power, I present a full translation of Fudan University Professor Yin Zhiguang’s essay, alongside an incisive guest introduction by my senior colleague Dr. Shalom S. Wald (JPPI).
I translated Yin's essay to show how anti-Israel and antisemitic ideas, often couched as “social justice” and Fanonist acts of “liberation”, are gaining traction in Chinese academia after October 7, and how closely they mirror the rhetoric emanating from elite Western institutions.
It is not surprising, considering that many of the most vocal proponents of this discourse on the mainland received their PhDs from the same universities where "globalize the intifada" is now in vogue.
