I like a lot of Scott's writing. But, in this post Curtis intellectually dismantles him to a degree that is almost inconceivable. He really puts his finger on the deep epistimelogical corruption of the rationalism movement.

I see that SFUSD has decided to use the term “Multilingual learners” instead of “English Learners”. By the plain meaning of the words, an English-only student who is learning Spanish or Mandarin or Cantonese in an immersion class is a multilingual learner. Whoever is ultimately to blame, you are describing an undeniable reality, Fran, which has been the case in many areas of this country. I would blame primarily Black leadership, especially the "cool" athletes and entertainers, for not calling out this self-destructive behavior. Instead, they enable and glamorize it. Thanks!
