You know what grinds my gears? When someone says being a dog mom will never come close to being a mom to a person or how having a dog can never be compared to having a child.

I think it’s such a cruel thing to say especially when you have no idea why someone says they are a dog mom.

I’m a dog mom & a human mom & it is very much comparable to ME. No, it’s not the exact same, duh. But I love my dogs just as much as I love my kids. My dogs are family. Period.

I don’t understand why this bothers some people soooo much. Why do people care what someone else calls themselves? I don’t get it, but I do get it if you love your dog like they are family because they are.

And if you feel the same you are my people.

This is why I created the Dog Moms Only Substack. Some people just don’t get that our dogs are much more than “just a dog”

I wanted to create community and a safe space for dog moms to connect with other dog moms who get it.
