The way you speak to yourself is impacting your health
Hi beautiful humans,
Did you know that the way we speak to ourselves can either reduce inflammation or make it worse in the body?
Being pregnant right now has been a really humbling time. My skin is breaking out like I’m 14 again, my body is changing every day and I feel exhausted more often than not. I’ve caught myself most mornings criticising what I see in the mirror and starting my day on a negative note.
I share this to be real with you. Not every day is perfect.
But in my recent studies, I’ve been learning just how much our internal dialogue impacts inflammation in the body. And inflammation is one of the biggest drivers of illness, from things like heart disease to osteoporosis.
This small habit of self criticism was doing more harm than I realised.
So I’ve made a conscious shift. Before I even open my eyes or look in the mirror, I say something kind to myself. Just one compliment.
And honestly, it’s already changing my mood, my energy and the way I move through my day.
This week, I encourage you to try the same.
Change the narrative, choose kindness over constant criticism and speak to yourself the way you would speak to someone you love.
