I may be strange (okay—I am strange) but when I love a book, I do NOT want it to be made into a film. Ever. I don’t look forward to it, don’t get excited at its release, and most of the time I never watch it.
Sure, once in a blue moon the stars align so Hollyweird accidentally lets a Dune or Lord of the Rings slip through, but those are so rare it’s exaggeration to even call them "anomalies. More like miracles.
Nolan’s Odyssey is the next one I’m not looking forward to in the least. I’m placing bets on it sucking, especially to those of us who’ve read and love Homer. If it turns out I’m wrong, I’ll eat those words (gladly!) but I doubt that’ll be the case.
