This is painful to read but so valuable. It’s getting harder to just get on with normal day-to-day life even outside the line of fire. Not sure about planning that flight-requiring trip now.
New, from me: DOGE's mass firings of probationary employees are a masterclass in how not to manage public organizations. They don’t have a plan to fix what they are breaking because they don’t understand or care about the damage they are doing.

Utterly stupid policy.
The businesses and industry that benefit from the research sponsored by the federal government need to be loud about this. Cutting off research or limiting it in any way will doom our economy in ways that will be long lasting.
The governor needs to ensure no harm comes from any changes to the economics of research and related business leadership for the US.
