ELDER WISDOM SHARED WITH MY YOUNGER SELF

Q: If you could go back to a point in your life and give yourself some advice/support, what age would you go back to and what would you say to that version of yourself?

A: I would go back to the version of me from my late teens in the mid 80s, when I had a baby and got married. I would say to her ‘Slow down Donna, sloooow down. Don’t be so fast to do everything. I know you’re trying to run from your pain and I get it. But it doesn’t work my love. The Soul doesn’t run you see…

You don’t have to be so quick to give yourself away to the first man who shows you a crumb of love. You can slow down and take your time. You don’t have to marry someone just because they say I love you…

…..and I know where this desperation in you comes from to be loved and to belong. But I need you to know, there is nothing wrong with you Donna. I know you’re hurting,  but as you do your healing work, life will slowly get better and better. You will look back on this time and this version of yourself with such compassion, gratitude and love. I know! Hard to believe isn’t it? And yet you will.

Oh and one last thing Donna, you’re so lovely and sweet and wise underneath that Warrior defence. Don’t believe otherwise. Just step by step lay down your weapons and allow your heart to break open. Everything else will slowly fall into place. I promise. I love you xxxx🙏🏾❤️🌻

What would your answer be to the same question? Please post in the comments ⬇️, I’d love to know. ❤️
