My first real copy of DORIE’S ANYTIME CAKES just landed at my doorstep. It’s my 15th!!! book and I’ve never opened any of them with anyone but Michael. But you’ve all been such a big part of this project from the beginning that I wanted you to see it at the same time that I did! Sorry about the shaky hands and the fumfering, but I was nervous and so excited - and still I am.

And now, I’m off to cry - happy tears - and rub my hands over the gorgeous drawings and read the stories and recipes. Even though they’re my recipes and my stories, seeing them in print, seeing them on paper, bound in a book, makes everything different.

I wish you were all really here and that we could riffle through the pages together, but we’ve got to wait for the book’s birthday, October 21 - xoxoxoxoxoxo Dorie
