I was at a dancing anti-homophobia protest in front of the Russian embassy on Saturday, when I saw a familiar book cover on the fundraising merch table. “Oh! I follow this author on substack!” I said to my friend, knowing full well I sound like a total prick. “Ive been meaning to buy it!”

“He’s right there! He’ll sign it for you too, I bought one and he signed mine.”
