I need to pause from the 30 Days of Drawing to acknowledge what’s happening in the U.S. and around the world right now. This is a very scary time, full of fear, uncertainty, and attacks on human rights.
Talking with a friend a couple days ago about the threats facing our neighbors, our friends, our families, and ourselves, I asked in desperation, “What can we do?” She snapped back, “Your community is doing it! Get people to draw and see each other.”
In challenging times, it’s helpful to be reminded of our deeper purpose. So I’m sharing my/DrawTogether’s mission again — a reminder to you, the whole DrawTogether community, and myself of what we are doing here. Drawing is fun and playful, but it is also rewiring your brain for curiosity, attention, and care. There is more direct action needed, and we must take that too. But here at DrawTogether and the Grown-Ups Table, we are building a solid foundation for change, starting inside and moving out.
We have a long way to go but we’re growing there together.
