On short stories…

My book Me and Mickie James (2008) is 6 linked short stories about a pop duo. Seven Nights at the Flamingo Hotel (2020) is 28 connected short stories about a week in the life of a hotel dishwasher. My latest, Saltburn (2025), is made up of 6 short stories all set in the town of Saltburn. I’ve written a collection of 20 short stories based on Tom Cruise films - each story having different iterations of the same characters (not published but I’ve only sent it to one publisher). The most recent story I’ve written is 250 words in the style of Soviet banned absurdist writer Daniil Kharms. The one before that a riff on a Richard Brautigan story. I’ve written 10 short stories this year, each story the title of which is a man’s name - I’ve sent them to one place each.
