I try and walk to our beach every day. Having a wee rescue doggo makes it easier. Even if I’m feeling rubbish, I try and get out with her. She still won’t walk with my husband on her own.

Every day I take the same photos. A distant shot of the panorama, and 3 shots right at the beach. Every day the scene is different: different sky, different sea state and colour, different tide level, different weather, different light level at the time of year, or time of day, even in some instances - if we’ve had a storm - different shaped beach-scape as the sea removes and deposits sand, the work of millennia revealed and covered in a matter of days. I could never be bored with this familiar yet changing landscape.

I have quite the collection of photos over the 3 years since we’ve lived on this stretch of the north sea, as you might imagine. I often share them on social media and wonder if other people get bored of the same view. Does your patch bring renewed joy or does ‘familiarity breed contempt’? For me that could never be true.

See what you think. I might add a daily shot to my notes. Would anyone be interested?

Photos by me, all taken within the last few weeks. You probably all know this, but if you tap on a photo you can view a larger image.
