The Choice You Would NEVER Make
Pretend you know two families:
One family that is struggling to feed their children, and another family that is financially comfortable in their own home with plenty of food.
You’re at the grocery store, and you’ve got $20 of your tax money to give to one of those two families.
Would you ever hand money to the wealthy family instead of those who clearly actually needed it?
Of course not. And if you did, they would look at you like you were crazy, and then tell you to give it to the family that actually needs help buying food.
Unfortunately, that’s precisely the choice being made right now in Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”
It proposes massively cutting supplemental nutrition funding programs and healthcare for lower income families, while simultaneously funding extensions of tax breaks that will mostly benefit the highest earning families.
Apparently, it's not so easy to answer: "Should we help provide food for hungry families?"
