The app for independent voices

700,000 Black women have been pushed out of work since the new administration took office. I’ve seen tons of talking, tons of reports, tons of downtrodden-looking sisters on the news media — because our trauma and losses sell.

I asked myself, “Where’s the actual PLAN — or DEMAND — for repair?” I couldn’t find it.

So I did what I always do when I can’t find something that should exist. I start writing.

I’ve opened a draft of The New Labor Contract with America and invited public commentary.

My hope is that when the tides turn…. and they always do,,, there isn’t some casual “Sorry the most educated group in the country lost it all,” or a vague “That was unfortunate” from the folks running this American experiment.

Instead, there is an answer to a demand.

Read it. Comment. Add to it.

The contributors who offer the strongest insights will join us in May to help finalize and sign the demand.

I am sure there is someone somewhere more qualified than me to do this.

I don’t care.

The days of gatekeeping are over.

In fact, there are no damn gates.
