Part 107 wasn't written by bureaucrats who hate fun.
It was written by people who watched drones fall into crowds.
Every regulation is a scar from someone else's failure. Line-of-sight requirements? Someone flew blind and hit a helicopter. Altitude limits? Someone nearly took out a Cessna.
The saints called this "learning from others' shipwrecks."
FAA regs are just that: documented disasters you don't have to repeat.
