In response to the medical journal article on privatisation by health, I suggested 3 Big Actions:

1. Get party politics out of Health: Vote Health funding is Government decision. Delivery the role of the State.

Health services including prevention are the business of health professionals and must serve community needs/priorities.

2. Redesign health care service delivery, by those delivering care. With community governance.

We still have a 19th century top-down hierarchical structure - I think there are 6 layers to the Minister - and 20th century processes in health administration/thinking.

We can use the computer in our pockets to build a patient/whānau-centred Health IT system at little cost, instead of using techno-feudalists at ridiculously large costs for our IT needs.

(While on IT we urgently need to and stop social media damage to all ages while increasing its benefits by changing algorithms from profit to community and democratic engagement.)

3. Health drives policy. Not just fictive money.

Health is largely this largely the result of your genes (cannot change) and the conditions/choices of your life. “Genes load the gun, environment pulls the trigger” - to all disease + random factors.

To address the social and commercial determinants of health we need to elevate the role of Health relative to Money in setting Government policies on State functions.

Health, defined as more than a lack of illness but a state of physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being is the heart of human experience. It’s a biological reality. Money is a human invention to facilitate societal function, from its origin in taxation by the State.

[BitCoin - where did that money come from? A human fiction that is collectively shared; the collective conscious.]

I will be sharing claude.ai excellent critique of these 3 ideas as I start to explore them and consider implementation paths. I look forward to your critique and challenges. And other ideas to ‘fix’ Health in Aotearoa (NZ).

And the rest of the world. We are one human family. Arohanui. Oz
