Can we stop adding variations of “you're free to do with yourself what you want” before critiquing something? At this point it's baked in.

Polyamory: You're free to have whatever relationship you want, but…
Parenting: They're your kids, but…
Like, obviously people can do with themselves as they please, we're not undermining the idea of personal freedom and the generally-accepted premise that we shouldn't be interfering with people's private choices that don't impact our own rights. I don't want to read a paragraph long prelude to your argument about why sticking a needle in your eyeballs isn't such a good idea explaining that you think people can stick a needle in their eyeballs if they want. Just say it's stupid.
