Here’s a clip from the 1958 episode of Lassie where, according to Mike S, “Timmy is seriously ill with measles.”

I’ve compiled the ultimate collection of examples from the 1950s through the 1970s: newspaper clippings, TV shows, cartoons, movies, children’s books, songs, advertisements — all of it. They decisively show how completely the culture around measles has been flipped on its head.

Measles was no big deal — and always had been — until pharmaceutical marketing stepped in after the introduction of the measles vaccine in 1963.
