I have just started conversation with my 19-year-old great-niece. She has expressed some interest in the election and I am trying to help her. However, I do not want to influence her vote so I am taking extreme care to help her to understand the importance of knowing both sides and not just vote for whomever she hears others are voting for. She needs to think about what issues are most important for her and find out which candidates emulate her views on those. As much as I want her to vote democrat down ballot, I am encouraging her to gather information and to make her own informed choices.
