The app for independent voices

Some of my most powerful lessons didn’t come from a textbook or a single month. They came from the moments in the kitchen with my grandma, the stories my mother used to tell, and the streets my father and I walked.

Growing up in East Orange, Black history wasn’t reserved for February; we learned it year‑round. From the Black women who fought for our freedom to the cultural foods that have nourished us for generations, I am grateful to have grown up knowing my history.

Despite the trials we still face, I created The EBWH Community to do more than talk about how we've survived.

We also learn how to thrive, and in this week’s letter, “Where to Find Joy This Black History Month,” I share practical ways to find joy even when life feels heavy.

Comment “JOY” below to get the letter and tell me, how are you finding joy today?
