I’m so excited to announce that I’ve agreed to terms with Encounter Books in New York to publish my first book, “After Progress: How an Ancient Faith Roots a Restless Generation.”
Encounter Books has published some of the great conservative thinkers of the last several decades (and I’ve been a huge fan for quite some time): Thomas Sowell, Allen Guelzo, James Hankins, Roger Scruton, Batya Ungar-Sargon, Heather Mac Donald, Ryan T. Anderson, Wilfred McClay, and many more. I’m thankful Roger Kimball is taking a chance on this project. I believe in it and believe it will help many!
Here’s a bit of background:
Eight months ago, I started writing on Gen Z. My friend Tom Spence encouraged me to expand one of my essays in First Things into a book on Gen Z’s restlessness and how the Christian, small-o orthodox faith offers them roots (a theme consistent in most of my writing). With a lot of help from my agent, Keely Boeving, I was able to really narrow the book down and get it ready. It’s much, much better than I envisioned it at the start.
I’m so thankful to Rod Dreher as well — he championed this project early on and told Tom “Eddie is ready for the big leagues.” I’m not so sure about that, but I’m thankful Rod believes in me!
More details to come, but I couldn’t resist sharing with you all!
