Somehow, our world reverts to a time when a conscience, concern for others, and do and say what is right, has no place in the here and now. Once a decade, or worse case, once in a generation, we learn again to hate anyone who is not like us. Often this hate goes beyond words. Death, maiming, involuntary incarceration, torture, and social stigma are the consequence. Victimization in this country has become the game du jour, or is it de jure? One is of the moment, and the other is codified.
