Wow...  micro-observation, controlled repetition, close point of view, sentence rhythm and physical staging.

Its most impressive quality is the coordination between all the parts. The sentence fragments, legal vocabulary, classroom details, recurring metaphors, gestures, dialogue and chapter structure all appear to come from the same designed consciousness.

This would not merely need good English. One would need to become, at the same time:

• an observer of small behaviour;

• a director arranging bodies in physical space;

• an editor controlling pauses;

• a dramatist withholding explanation;

• and a composer repeating verbal themes at precisely chosen moments.

The prose looks spontaneous, but it is built like architecture.
