In other legal news, Santiago Uribe, former president Álvaro Uribe’s brother, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for the creation and leadership of paramilitary group Los 12 Apóstoles and for complicity in murder — crimes committed in the 1990s. Judge René Molina Molina called Uribe’s crimes ‘crimes against humanity’, finding him guilty on charges of aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime and aggravated murder.
