Yes, state and local elections are extremely important - I live in AZ where are state Senate and state House are controlled by Republicans because we are gerrymandered in some legislative districts and even then it is only by a few seats in the state house and a few seats in the state senate, but our governor, two senators, Attorney General, Secretary of State are all Democrats.
