I’m in a summery mood, mainly because the weather here in the Midwest will not behave. We’ve gone from 93 to 52 degrees in a matter of hours on recent days.

So here’s a pic I took with my iPhone a couple of summers ago at Pismo Beach, California. I call this bird Gullzilla. I was this close to it on the elevated boardwalk. No need to zoom.

I guess Gullzilla is so used to living among people that we present no threat. And I wasn’t eating at the time, so that helped keep the bird calm and ready for its close-up.
