One of the really important things we can do is just internalize the idea that we have control over our lives and can overcome catastrophic environmental challenges if we work together under competent leadership.

Finding competent leadership is of course the tricky part, but it can happen and we should try because the alternative is standing idly and shrugging while entirely preventable disasters wipe out huge swaths of the population.
