“If we’re brave enough not to look away, the darkness softens, and what was once unseen becomes faintly visible to our adjusting eyes.”
Yesterday, I restacked an essay by the extraordinary Kendall Lamb whose work I had never previously read. This morning, I woke to her new essay about grief and trial and motherhood, as seen through the lens of an orca pod in the Pacific Northwest. It is magnificent.
I now want to read everything Kendall has written, from the beginning of the beginning.
Again: if you read one essay today, make it this one. 🙏🏻🕊️
