The harder the kid, the sooner, thicker, and more immovable the boundaries.
I have a nine-year-old son who was once an aggressive, defiant toddler. He was blessed to get what too many of his fellow German Shepherds needed but didn’t: Parental love that didn’t try to justify itself by way of a two-year-old’s approbation. All kids need this. But the German Shepherd ones need it most; and they need it youngest.
