The 'brain as computer' metaphor was clarifying to a degree in the 1960s
But it was never meant to be calcified into ontology. Now, we don't say brains are like computers in certain ways. We think of them as computers, just ones 'made of meat'
That's not scientific progress. That's forgetting important details from the history of science
