I feel like I should be doing something today to try and secure parishes for displays. However my options are pretty much limited. It is just a matter of waiting for the email/phone call that will never happen. Ironic since today is the kind of day where I could use such things to help improve my current mood.
Two minutes into checking in on 𝕏 I remembered why I checked out of it.
It’s actually a very good platform but too many crazy people and engagement pimps muddy the waters. And if anyone reading, this thinks it’s only the conservatives, boy are you wrong! It comes from both sides
An odd pattern I've noticed for some years is the way homilies tend to boil down to, "You're a sinner. Stop it!" (cue SNL skit)
Particularly notable examples:
- Trinity Sunday homily went from 1 minute of "God is triune, God is love" to 10+ minutes of "Isn't it sad that we don't love as well as the triune God does?"
- Homily on Jesus' "Woes" from Luke's Sermon on the Plain focused on the "egoism" of "modern thinkers" such as "René Descartes." Never mentioned the vice of greed.

FEMA is turfing 3500 families out of hotels as we speak, as a state-wide winter storm is bearing down on us in NC. Meanwhile Biden has already offered (or sent?!) money to LA. Forgive me if my sympathy is limited at the moment. I lived in Orange County for 4 long years after college and even in the '80s hated it. I don't wish this devastation on anyone, but voting has consequences.
You seem familiar with Reno...were you there during the golden days of the70' and 80's before Indian Casinos and the computers changed it for the worse? Much worse.
Computers released the casinos from relying on offering benefits to get people in the door. 99cent breakfasts, $4.95 one pound new york steak dinners...prime rib anywhere for $6.00...pouring 99 cent well drinks from a Tanqueray bottle opened in front of you.
Now facial recognition and player cards weed out the dead-beats.
