I'd be lying if I said that the militant, hypermasculine style in which this is written totally resonates with me. I sometimes wear a bow tie and drink tea, after all. But it would be a shame to overlook this really outstanding advice just because one prefers or usually affects a more genteel sensibility.
I’d also be lying if I said that the militant, hypermasculine style in which this written doesn’t stir something deep within me. Braveheart spoke French to his bride, after all. And Our Lord himself “set his face as flint” when he set out for his final journey to Jerusalem.
Anyway, whether you like the style or not, there’s much here that is excellent and important and too-little discussed.
