Yes, this is SO true. I’ve worked with writers - often incredibly hard-working, focused and talented ones - who are so boggled by different feedback their work’s ground to a halt. Sometimes the most effective thing I’ve said has been along the lines of “Trust yourself to have absorbed what your novel needs, and forgotten what it doesn’t, put the feedback away, and go for it.”
