I just signed a contract today with a new hybrid publisher where the set-up is reversed for my next book project. Instead of getting an advance/a small cut of royalties, I pay them a fee to design & edit and set-up retail channels for my next book, and then I keep 100% of all sales revenue and I am the sole rights-holder. Substack has been a real catalyst in inspiring me to re-look at the way I do things - and how I can work in partnership with publishing platforms.
