I watched The Devil Wears Prada 2 and while it was skilful in the callbacks, references and continuation, it fell short for me, as someone who started my magazine career not long before the book was published and has seen the industry change completely in 20 years.

I wish it hadn’t ended the way it did [no spoilers] but that simply wouldn’t happen.

I try to tell people how much journalism has changed, how my career trajectory simply doesn’t exist for someone starting out in this day and age but the film does not have a responsibility to tell that story.

Enjoyable and wonderful to revisit familiar characters.
