Whatever bug got up Capitol’s butt shouldn’t have delayed the next one. But thirteen years on we still don’t have a new one. And it is frustrating because this one is full of killer cuts. I mean anthemic earworms that never overstay their welcome. The first side is mostly primo. A bevy of great pop songs that still sound fresh. And side two is nearly its equal. I hope at some point a new album finally gets announced, but at least there’s this.
