Delighted and proud to hear the announcement that I have won the 2025 Arthur Lovekin Medal for Excellence in Journalism. For my body of work covering the existential threats to Western Australia’s black cockatoos. After being shortlisted for this prize three times in recent years, and given that environmental journalism is a long hard road that often feels thankless, it feels pretty damn good to finally have it in the bag.
